The Ace Hotel in 24 Hours

Our friends, Ryan and Rebecca, came to visit us from Seattle last week. When we realized that it was going to rain for 3 days straight in LA, we decided we needed to go to Palm Springs so they could get some sunlight, and really, who am I to turn down a night in Palm Springs?

The Ace was great as always, and we even got upgraded to a lounge room with a patio! I guess going there  5 times a year is starting to pay off :) Somehow my husband didn't end up in any of the photos. Clearly, he is the photographer in the relationship.

This weekend consisted of estate sales, brunch, coffee, gelato, guacamole & beer in Malibu, Pizza & Coke, and hanging with friends! I want to go back to the weekend.

Tokyo Milk Pafum in Lotus Sake

My friend who came to visit me brought me a gift! I love perfume, and she must have known that I had already seen and wanted this perfume after smelling some of them at Anthropologie a few months ago. She gave me the Tokyo Milk Parfum in Lotus Sake that she got from Blackbird in Seattle (where she lives). It is just the right size, it will be easy to travel with and I also love the cute packaging. 

I love it and I have been wearing it all weekend, I want to check out the Poe's Tobacco scent also, or as my husband would call it this "flavor".

We watched the movie, Julie & Julia, and ate at two different French Restaurants this weekend. I think I might need this so that I can make my very own boeuf bourguignon! 

In reality I know that I would not use it enough to justify the cost so I will hold out until I can find one at a thrift store or at an estate sale. 

We took my friend Heather for happy hour at Figaro in Los Feliz on Saturday. We got a table outside and shared the pommes frites, coconut shrimp and wine.  

Every day of the week!

We take toasting very seriously.

The shrimp was amazing.

On Sunday morning we took Heather to Cafe Stella in Silverlake and had the most delicious brunch. That was only the second time I have been there. I have only been there during the day but I hear that that the dinner menu is just as delightful.

We really liked that guy on the right.

It looks like I was topless, but I promise I wasn't.

I will not have a new post for the next few days because one of my best friend's in the world is coming to LA! I will be sure to have a big weekend post on Sunday or Monday. Heather has several trips to visit me from Seattle where she lives but we have plans to take her to some fun places that she has never been on this next visit.
