One of my best pals from Washington came to visit me this weekend so I spent it eating and drinking and catching up on old times. We shopped, went to the beach, got a blowout, made yummy drinks and saw some sights.

P.S. I finally got an iPhone!

I picked up Elf this weekend at T.J Maxx for $5.99! Best money I ever spent. We have basically had the movie on repeat since we bought it, it is the perfect movie to have on in the background while you tinker around the house. 

W/E 7/31/11

My mom came to LA this weekend for a visit and I didn't end up taking a lot of photos. We did some shopping, got Thai massages and ate some delicious food. We went to visit my brother in his neighborhood of Highland Park, which I haven't spent much time in. He took us to a really delicious Mexican restaurant called El Arco Iris that I am already craving again. After lunch at El Arco we walked next door to an old shop called Galco's. It is a huge old soda pop shop! They had so many interesting and unique kinds of soda, beer, candy and water! They do online orders and they will ship your soda to you. My mom put together a case and they are shipping it to her now. 

After dropping my mom off at the airport, we spent the afternoon in Santa Monica. We were preparing for a juice fast the following week which required us to eat a vegan diet so we had dinner at Real Food Daily. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of my vegan tacos, but I did snap a picture of the delicious chocolate tart. The vegan whip cream was really super yummy and dairy free!

This weekend was "Carmageddon"in Los Angeles, which means that the 405 was closed from the 10 to the 101. The fear tactics really worked on everyone because the roads were desolate, which made for a fun and traffic free weekend!

On Friday I caught up on sleep by taking a long nap afte work and going to sleep early. We spent most of Saturday going to estate and yard sales and I found some amazing dresses, belts, scarves and a purse (pictures later). We found so much awesome stuff that the car actually reached capacity and we had to go home. I had yummy Thai food on Saturday night with a friend while Isaac worked. On Sunday I ran some errands and we had a nice brunch at Edendale in Silverlake. We relaxed at home for the afternoon and the finished the weekend with sushi.

Wednesday? Really? Yeah, I know. How do people work full time and have a blog? I really do not understand. I am dying to go to sleep right now but I felt the need to post these so that my mom would be happy.

Last weekend was busy and fun. I went to a nice dinner on Friday night in Hollywood, I ran errands on the East Side and in Hollywood on Saturday, I went to a fun party at The Roosevelt Hotel, I nursed a hangover on Sunday and then I drove to Santa Barbara to see Best Coast.
